Henry Smith MP thanks you for attending the Crawley Apprenticeship & Jobs Fair
While local unemployment has fallen to 1.5 per cent (as of October 2015), there is more I can do as Member of Parliament for Crawley to help people into education and training.
After holding two similar events in recent years, I enjoyed hosting the Crawley Apprenticeship & Jobs Fair at the Town Hall on Friday 4th March 2016.
I was pleased to welcome recent figures stating that the number of apprenticeship starts in 2014/15 in Crawley was up on the previous year, as it was across the whole of the South East.
However, I am aware that more needs to be done to ensure that more people in our town find work or get into professional training.
Crawley is home to many leading national and global companies, but finding the right kind of work, or getting back in to employment after a period of absence, may be difficult.
This is why I held a dedicated Crawley Apprenticeship & Jobs Fair at the Town Hall on 4th March 2016, which was designed to provide an opportunity to meet and speak with key local employers.
